We are proud to announce Enna Zone Đonlić as YWB of the month. She had a vision for changing the way students learned within her community Maglaj in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Maglaj has always been a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community,
even after the Bosnian War the community still houses a diverse group of people practicing different religions. Her project, Classroom for Informational Technology and Mathematics, ”We are creators of a new world", set out with the goal of bringing students access to technologies that will enhance and benefit their studies. Before her project was implemented the students of two schools in Maglaj were unable to work, practice programming, or succeed in other various tasks properly. The finished classroom now serves as a center for 200 students from both high schools.
Enna completed her project thanks to the support and funding from the municipality of Maglaj and local private business owners. Today, the classroom is used on a daily basis by both schools. It is equipped with 28 new computers, a new projector, LCD TV, and video surveillance. The availability of this technology for the students has made their studying more effective and efficient. With this classroom, students from Maglaj will become more competitive with students from other schools in various fields.
After completing this project, Enna has found a thirst for becoming engaged in further community projects. She is currently looking to use dance as a mechanism to create a project that will integrate the diversities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
