Welcome to Communities Without Boundaries Institute, your one-stop training resource for conflict resolution practitioners, military personnel, human rights advocates and everyone interested in advancing the agenda for peace. Communities Without Boundaries Institute (CWBInstitute) is CWBI’s flagship education and training program. CWBInstitute provides its students state of the art theory and practice designed for today’s local to global issues. Courses focus on conflict analysis and resolution, sustainable development, peace, nonviolence, and social change. CWBInstitute targets practitioners and students of these fields as well as governments, foundations, and other organizations that are seeking practical and theoretically sound tools and strategies for peace and conflict.
CWBInstitute courses are designed for a variety of audience that includes adults and youth in communities that have experienced profound disruptions in their lives due to war, natural disasters and systemic violence. As such, our approach to education and training integrates elements of adult learning theories, experiential learning theory as well as current research on adolescence development. CWBInstitute trainers are peacebuilding practitioners with years of experience in the field. CWBInstitue approach puts a heavy emphasis on project-based learning as we believe true learning comes in the careful construction of one’s own meaning. In addition, to minimize the potentially reductionist perspective of individual courses, we build a purposeful application of concepts learned in each course.
CWBinstitute approach to education and training promotes insight into our individual and community experiences to bring meaning and inspiration.
